First Nations Community Coordinator Role

The role of First Nations Community Coordinator focuses on empowering the independence, community inclusion and overall quality of life for children aged 0–9 with disabilities or developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong, respectful relationships with First Nations families to ensure their voices and preferences are at the forefront.
  • Conduct observations of a child in their natural environment to assess their functioning and support needs.
  • Support First Nations families to establish meaningful goals and track progression towards these goals.
  • Provide connections and linkages to mainstream services in the local area to improve children's access to supports and social participation.
About This Opportunity:

This is an Identified Position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only. We're seeking someone who has experience working with First Nations children and families, understands child development (0–9 years), and knows and is connected to local First Nations communities.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Early Childhood or Allied Health and experience working with First Nations children and families. You'll also need to be confident in building community networks and service pathways.
