Company Overview

PERSOLKELLY is a leading recruitment provider in Australia, specializing in professional and executive talent.

We have recently been appointed as the sole recruitment partner for the Western Australian Electoral Commission and will be working to provide a 10,000 strong workforce to deliver the state election.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is around $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to assist with various polling positions during the state election. The roles include:

  • Issuing Officer: Issues ballot papers to electors on polling day, rotates as a ballot box guard and queue controller, and becomes a counting officer after 6 pm.
  • Student Electoral Officer: Assists in polling place duties performed by Officers, limited hours.
  • Voter Information Officer: Engaged centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program, may be assigned to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors, can perform other duties but are largely deployed to assist electors with language, literacy or other requirements.
  • General Assistant: May assist with the setup of a polling place on the night before polling, starts at 5:30 pm on Polling Day to assist with the count and pack up.
  • Ballot Box Guard: Ensures the correct ballot box papers are put into the ballot boxes, also rotates as an issuing officer and queue controller, and becomes a counting officer after 6 pm.
  • Queue Controller: Manages the queue into the polling place and directs electors as needed, also rotates as an issuing officer and ballot box guard, and becomes a counting officer after 6 pm.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
