EML Group is seeking experienced Claims professionals from New Zealand to join our growing team.

As a Senior Claims Manager, you will play a critical role in helping injured workers recover and return to work through tailored support. You will set the standard in claims management while guiding and supporting others around you through mentoring and coaching colleagues and leading by example to create a culture of collaboration.

This is a full-time, permanent position with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week once fully trained.

Responsibilities:
  • Pro-actively manage a portfolio of workers compensation claims to achieve the optimum outcome of early and sustainable return to work with reasonable claim costs.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, employers, brokers, rehab providers and other stakeholders to create an effective Return to Work strategy.
  • Assist the worker and employer with the claim process, providing support, managing expectations and ensuring timely access to required services to support return to work and injury recovery.
  • Assess aspects of liability and recovery relevant to the legislation or policies while undertaking ongoing reviews in relation to entitlements and payments.
  • Respond to escalations and provide coaching and mentoring to other members of the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing claims within the New Zealand Accident Compensation Scheme is mandatory.
  • You must currently be residing in New Zealand to be eligible for relocation bonus.
  • An empathetic, resilient, and motivational approach to provide customer centric support.
  • A driven professional with highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Careful consideration to detail with a high concern for accuracy to manage stakeholder engagement.
  • A team player who likes to work collaboratively and can also work independently.
