Job Description

The Chief Data Governance Architect will lead the design and implementation of our data governance framework, ensuring it aligns with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry benchmarks. This includes providing guidance on best practices for data governance, overseeing the implementation of data management controls, and collaborating with key stakeholders from all business units to foster data stewardship and data quality.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide data governance advisory services to business stakeholders across Optus.
  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, including data standards, guidelines, and procedures in line with the new data governance operating model.
  • Conduct data and AI governance assessments and audits to ensure alignment to organisation data policies and standards.
  • Advise and collaborate with business data stewards and experts to continuously uplift organisation data governance maturity.

Additionally, the Chief Data Governance Architect will contribute to improving Responsible AI governance processes across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience and understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and methodologies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A curious and self-motivated person with a passion for challenging the status quo and driving positive change.
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Experience with implementing data policies and standards and assessing business initiative alignment to these.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary package of AU$140,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including 3 days in the office, 2 days remote, inclusive paid parental leave, access to an extensive online learning catalogue, and more.
