Economic Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Economic Development Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing our economic plan, policies, and programs to drive growth in jobs, investment, and prosperity in the region.
You will provide guidance in economic development to external and internal stakeholders, including the establishment of strategic partnerships between government and the private sector. You will also be an advocate for business investment and economic growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Economic development of the region, including marketing, tourism, events, and functions.
- Community development and delivery of our Youth Strategy.
- Community services, including the operation of our libraries and oversight of our childcare centre.
- Oversight of the management of the Les Wilson Barramundi Discovery Centre.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, economic development, tourism, or community engagement.
- Experience in community consultation and working with small business.
- A high level of communication skills across a broad range of stakeholders and evidence of effective collaboration and facilitation.
- Experience within government or business enterprises, demonstrating experience in economic development, is desirable but not essential.
