Events Specialist

The City is seeking a dynamic events specialist to plan and execute major sporting events, as well as develop additional high-profile events that showcase the region.
About the Role
- Lead event planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget parameters.
- Develop event management strategies, risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Secure funding, sponsorships, and partnerships to enhance event success.
- Work closely with internal teams to maximise community engagement.
- Oversee event logistics, supplier contracts, and venue bookings.
- Evaluate event success and recommend improvements for future events.
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Events Management, or equivalent experience in event or venue management.
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering large-scale events.
- Experience in budget management, sponsorship acquisition, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
