">Procurement Specialist

This role is a key opportunity for an experienced procurement specialist to provide functional support to Site Engineering in the successful delivery of their projects.

The Procurement Team requires a diligent professional to provide ongoing procurement support for existing and planned contract packages.

You will be responsible for working collaboratively to plan, implement and manage the procurement of contracts according to the approved strategy with an overriding commitment to health, safety, social value, environment responsibility and sustainable development.

">Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop execution strategies, undertake sourcing, execute new contracts and manage contract variations compliant with global standards.
  2. Ensure the appropriate allocation of risks through the selection of effective commercial pricing models.
  3. Draft high-quality tender and contract documents to minimize ambiguity, thereby reducing opportunities for claims.
  4. Influence the selection of procurement strategies (e.g. fixed lump sum, cost reimbursable, Target Cost).
  5. Provide contract management support to project teams throughout the contract life cycle.
  6. Provide contractor and contract performance monitoring and reporting to support the Projects Category (KPI reporting, spend analytics, contract variations incl. claims management, and off-contract spend).
  7. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to become a highly valued contract expert, trusted with commercial support, to lead negotiations with vendors and provide on-going contract management up to and including close-out.
  8. Ensure consistency and high performance against projects and commercial Procurement KPIs.
  9. Pursue projects, operational and commercial excellence through continuous improvement.
  10. Apply sound commercial judgement around application of contractual terms and conditions to ensure that contractors perform their obligations under the contract.
  11. Understand and implement principles and methods of dispute avoidance and resolution.
  12. Support direct tendering, negotiation and implementation of complex and high value contracts to reduce the total cost to the business as required.
About You:

You will have experience of procurement in construction projects and working with project teams, hold a tertiary qualification or similar with preferably experience within the mining and mineral resources industry.

  • Have a pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement to deliver best outcome.
  • Demonstrated experience with contract law and/or contract management.
  • Collaborative mindset and advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Highly capable in building constructive long-term relationships.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Ability to support Procurement Leaders to deliver upon department KPIs.
