Teaching Assistant: Learn to Swim Program

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our community by teaching an essential lifelong skill.

  • A casual role on a vibrant university campus close to public transport
  • Deliver engaging and effective learn to swim classes for infants and preschoolers in line with Macquarie University's swimming program
  • Collaborate and contribute to the successful growth and quality of the learn to swim program

You will be working closely with a dynamic and enthusiastic team, aiming to provide a high-quality swimming program to our community. Your skills and experience will play a vital role in achieving this goal.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing innovative techniques to teach students from 6 months through to 5 years, ensuring skill progression in each class
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to parents/guardians as required
  • Working collaboratively with other staff members to ensure consistency and continuity across programs

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A SWIM Australia Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Qualification or equivalent
  • A SWIM Australia Teacher of Babies & Toddlers Extension or equivalent
  • A First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • A Working with Children Check
  • The ability to work Sundays and commit to weekday afternoons and/or Saturdays
