We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Graduate Diploma in Midwifery student. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills in midwifery within a supportive and caring environment.

The Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of midwifery practices, including continuity of care experiences, structured programs across the continuum of maternal and newborn care, and experienced preceptors for initial and ongoing support.

Selection Criteria:

  • Current Nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Registered Nurse with minimum 1 year full time experience in an acute care setting
  • Concurrent Enrolment in a Diploma of Midwifery University program at UTS or WSU
  • Ability to undertake Part Time employment of FTE 0.84, 8 and 12 hr shifts on a 7-day rotating roster
  • Understanding the role of a midwife within a primary healthcare framework
  • Demonstrated ability in clinical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of, and ability to work within a team
