Midwifery Student Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious Registered Nurse to join our Graduate Diploma in Midwifery Program, providing a comprehensive and supportive environment for professional growth and development.

This program is designed for aspiring midwives who want to consolidate their clinical skills in maternal and newborn care. Our experienced preceptors will offer initial and ongoing support, ensuring that participants receive the best possible guidance throughout their journey.

Selection Criteria

To be eligible for this program, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold current Nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Have a minimum 1 year full-time experience in an acute care setting as a Registered Nurse
  • Be enrolled in a Diploma of Midwifery University program at UTS or WSU
  • Be able to commit to part-time employment of FTE 0.84, 8 and 12 hour shifts on a 7-day rotating roster
  • Demonstrate understanding of the role of a midwife within a primary healthcare framework
  • Show evidence of clinical problem-solving skills
  • Display high-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively within a team
