We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Lead to join our team in the Mining and Minerals Processing industry. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering investigations, developing and reviewing designs, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical Engineering Investigations
    • Perform thorough investigations on existing and future plants and equipment to identify areas for improvement and optimize processes.
  • Design Development and Review
    • Work closely with the drafting team to develop and review civil, mechanical, and structural layouts, arrangement, and detail drawings.
  • Contractor Selection and Management
    • Evaluate and adjudicate received bids and quotations for mechanical and process equipment and civil, structural, and mechanical construction scopes of work.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting
    • Create accurate cost estimates and bills of materials for project budgets and scope definition.
  • Claim Resolution and Variations
    • Ensure justifications for contractual claims resolution and variations during project implementation.
  • Schedule Management and Remedial Actions
    • Recommend remedial actions to mitigate schedule delays, scope creeps, and budget overruns.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory and government legislation and objectives and priorities for tasks undertaken.
  • Engineering Proposals and Solutions
    • Prepare engineering proposals and solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • RPEQ preferred (or Chartered and eligible for RPEQ)
  • Experience
    • 12 years of experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with Mineral Processing Industry experience, preferably gold
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of accepted Mechanical engineering practices, design codes, and regulations
