Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Central Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing our fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance on heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Identify and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner
  • Liaise with direct managers and supervisors to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Conduct asset condition reports and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Work to tight schedules while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency
  • Adopt and continue with Lean practices to ensure cost efficiency and quality in all repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain company tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Take ownership of major repairs and work efficiently to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Challenge yourself with a mindset of best practice and continuous improvement
  • Maintain professional and clear communication with all company staff

Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Relevant Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic certificates
  • Experience in multiple fields (i.e. mobile plant and highway trucks)
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done
  • Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety
  • A person who is approachable with excellent people management skills
  • A team player who is action focused and result-oriented, who quickly comes up to speed on repairs and priority breakdowns
  • Ability to problem solve and engage their peers to achieve best possible outcomes
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals
  • Experience in working in a high-performance team
