About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Rockhampton, Queensland. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for servicing our fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in top condition to meet the demands of our expanding businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance on heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Liaise with direct managers and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Conduct asset repairs and fault finding to minimize downtime
  • Assess and carry out breakdown repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations
  • Prepare and submit asset condition reports and inspections
  • Work to tight schedules while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
  • Adopt and continue with Lean practices to ensure cost efficiency and quality in all repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain company tools and equipment in good working order
  • Take ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Continuously improve work practices and processes to achieve best outcomes
Requirements
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Relevant Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic certificates
  • Experience in multiple fields, including mobile plant and highway trucks
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done
  • Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety
  • Excellent people management skills and ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals
  • Ability to problem solve and engage peers to achieve best possible outcomes
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in a high-performance team
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Full working rights within Australia
