Student Welfare Professional

We are seeking a Student Welfare Professional to join our team, providing high quality professional services to international and domestic students addressing issues that directly impact on student wellbeing and success.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality welfare services, supporting students with various needs, and contributing to the creation of an inclusive and respectful campus culture.

To thrive in this role, you will have a degree in Social Work or equivalent experience, with at least four (4) years' relevant experience. You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in providing welfare services to diverse populations, including brief intervention, risk assessment, crisis response, and critical case management.
  • Understanding of student transition and acculturation, financial, academic, and personal issues, as well as relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • High-level organisational skills, problem-solving ability, and critical thinking while managing competing demands.
  • Sound professional practice in confidentiality, records management, boundaries, and supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate workshops, preventative programs, educational materials, activities, and events.
  • Understanding of inclusion, diversity, participation, and social justice.
