The Role

In the capacity of Enterprise Architect, you will report directly to the Head of Data & Applications and collaborate closely with the Head of Technology. Your role will involve providing strategic insights on enterprise application and cloud architecture. You will be instrumental in aligning our technological framework with the strategic vision of the business by establishing and upholding data architecture standards, policies, and best practices. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the company's architecture to ensure that our technological systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with our objectives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Offer strategic guidance on enterprise applications and cloud architecture principles.
  • Engage with stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.
  • Identify interdependencies within systems and collaborate with project teams for efficient project execution.
  • Ensure that the design and integration of proposed systems and solutions foster business growth through effective technology utilization.
  • Monitor and evaluate IT trends to keep architecture current and relevant.
  • Develop and communicate strategic plans for systems architecture investment, including cost reduction analysis.
  • Design and maintain the data landscape, data management components, and analytical frameworks, adhering to security best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and code repositories.
  • Assist the Head of Data & Applications in identifying ongoing revenue and commercialization opportunities.
  • Analyze business challenges and outcomes to design efficient and scalable data architectures, presenting solutions to stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about the latest innovations in digital technologies, including AI and digital twins, applicable to Urbis.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
  • Facilitate ongoing learning and development within the team, including the preparation of process documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, with expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud (especially Synapse); Azure certifications (Solutions Architect and/or DevOps Engineer) are advantageous.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience in Enterprise Architecture design and management.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and taxonomy.
  • A passion for applying data in urban design and planning, with insight into urban systems complexities.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies in data management.
  • A background in technical consulting is preferred.
