Policy Professional Opportunity:

About the Role:

  • Analyze government policies affecting our organization.
  • Develop policy positions on topics such as tertiary education legislative framework, international education, and student visa policy.
  • Support evidence-based advocacy and represent us at sector and political forums.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government officials, peak bodies, and policy influencers.
  • Prepare submissions for government reviews and legislation, collaborating with stakeholders to shape our policy positions.
  • Promote initiatives that attract government support across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct research and provide strategic advice on government policies affecting our organization.
  2. Assist in developing our government relations strategy.
  3. Create advocacy plans for government relations campaigns.
  4. Represent us at sector and political forums.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop policy reform strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree with substantial experience or extensive experience and expertise in tertiary education or complex regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of the Australian tertiary education sector, policies, and emerging trends.
  • Experience in producing high-quality policy documents, briefings, and research.
  • A proven ability to advise senior leaders and develop strategic relationships.
