Job Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled software engineer to contribute to the development of Juju, a large open-source Go project that powers complex distributed software systems across the world.
  • Juju is the engine behind model-driven operations, providing a means to operate complex software on public cloud, private cloud, Kubernetes, and bare-metal.
  • Combined with the Ops framework, Juju provides a complete solution for applications and infrastructure management.

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting features in a highly concurrent, highly distributed system that drives cloud automation and software operations at scale.
  • You will collaborate proactively with a distributed team, debug issues, and interact with upstream communities publicly.
  • You will work with talented engineers including experts in many fields.
  • You will discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • You have experience developing software using Go.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, especially in online environments.
  • You have an exceptional academic track record from both high school and preferably university.

Key Requirements

  • Absolute mastery of Go and relevant libraries and tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux, OpenStack, and Ubuntu.
  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Bonus Requirements

  • Contributions to the Go community or other open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of database management and querying.
