Job Title: Health Security Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our care team in providing safe, patient-centred care to a diverse population. As a Health Security Assistant, you will work under the guidance of clinical staff, providing general assistance in wards and portering patients within the facility or campus.

This role requires a high level of physical fitness, with the ability to perform duties that involve lifting and transferring patients. You must have a current NSW Security licence (Class 1A minimum) and Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) First Aid Certificate, or be willing to obtain these within three months of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general assistance to clinical staff in wards and portering patients within the facility/campus","
  • Undertake cleaning duties and security duties as required","
  • Work independently or as part of a team to deliver safe, patient-centred care","
  • Demonstrate knowledge of responsibilities under Work Health and Safety Legislation, the Security Industry Act and ability to read and follow instructions, policies, duty lists etc.","
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires","

  • Knowledge of and willingness to support the provision of person-centred care in a health care environment","
  • Experience working and communicating with people from all backgrounds","
  • Physical capacity to perform the duties of the position including lifting and transferring patients","
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and aggression management","
  • Able to work to a 24 hour, 7 day roster","
