Senior Employment Lawyer Opportunity

As a senior legal professional, you will provide high-level guidance and strategic advice on workplace relations, employment law, discrimination, misconduct, grievances, and dispute resolution.
The role involves managing complex litigation and contentious matters, working closely with senior executives, advising on sensitive issues, and leading and mentoring junior lawyers in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
About the RoleThis is an opportunity for a senior employment lawyer or workplace relations lawyer to work in a complex, high-profile environment that offers variety, professional challenge, and the chance to make a real impact without the pressure of private practice time billing.
You will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on all aspects of employment law and workplace relations, managing complex litigation and disputes across state and federal jurisdictions, and advising on dispute resolution strategies, including mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Additionally, you will mentor and supervise junior and mid-level lawyers to deliver exceptional legal services, and provide advice on administrative law, policy development, governance, and regulatory compliance.
About the Ideal Candidate- Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in Queensland (or eligible for admission)
- At least 7+ years' post-admission experience with strong expertise in workplace relations, employment law, industrial relations, and litigation
- Experience advising on sensitive employment and dispute matters in complex organisations, statutory bodies, or government environments
- Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence and communicate effectively across all organisational levels
