Renewable Energy Systems Developer

We are seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Systems Developer to join our team in Australia. This is a critical role in the development of our battery energy storage systems, and we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of BESS technology and project development.

Our goal is to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport, and we are committed to delivering this through the development of greenfield and acquired early/mid-stage energy storage systems.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will lead the development efforts of greenfield and acquired early/mid-stage energy storage systems (ESS) with a focus on site identification, land acquisition, and permitting/zoning. They will cultivate and manage external resources, such as land acquisition and technical support, to effectively deliver on Zenobē's growth targets within budget. They will also develop the commercial off-take and market trading strategy to support the business case for investment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver projects for greenfield and acquired early/mid-stage energy storage systems (ESS)
- Cultivate and manage external resources to deliver on Zenobē's growth targets
- Develop commercial off-take and market trading strategy to support the business case for investment
- Manage key counterparties and stakeholders, including landowners, local community, transmission companies, AEMO, off-takers, and OEMs
We are looking for someone with at least 10 years' experience in renewables project development, preferably for stand-alone BESS and/or grid-scale resources (100 MW+). The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of BESS technology, including critical components and safety systems, and experience in identifying optimal locations for battery storage, securing sites, managing, and obtaining environmental and grid approvals. They will also have in-depth knowledge of planning and connection regimes in the National Electricity Market.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus up to 25% annual bonus for outstanding performance. You will also receive 5 days 'Flex' leave, a monthly allowance towards health insurance costs, $2,600 training budget per year, EV Novated Leases, 12% superannuation contributions, and enhanced parental leave. We also offer a hybrid working arrangement from our Surry Hills office, with flexibility to work from home or other locations as needed.
LocationThis role is based in Australia, and you will be required to travel occasionally for meetings and site visits.
