About the Role:
  • This key position will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our facilities.
  • The successful candidate will have experience working across multiple trades and hold relevant qualifications in carpentry or a similar industry.
  • They will also possess strong communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance of School Buildings, Properties and Grounds: Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of our school facilities, including minor renovations and repairs.
  2. Furniture Repair and Manufacture: Repair and fabricate furniture and fittings as required.
  3. Building Project Construction: Undertake minor building project construction to support the needs of our school community.
  4. Support to Other Departments: Provide relief and assistance to other members of the Building and Grounds Department as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience working across multiple trades.
  • Demonstrated experience in carpentry or a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS issues.
  • Strong and clear communication skills.
  • Solutions-focussed, positive and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to undertake moderate physical demands of the position.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Current Working with Children Check and driver's licence.
  • Current or willingness to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect Training certification and First Aid qualifications.
