Plastic Surgery Trainee Opportunity

The Plastic Surgery Trainee plays a vital role in the care of surgical patients, working under the supervision of specialist medical officers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage patients under consultant guidance
  • Coordinate investigations and consultations as needed
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
  • Notify consultants of significant changes in patient condition or investigational results
  • Implement management plans from treating consultants
  • Participate in on-call rosters and after-hours duties

Work Environment:

Unaccredited Trainees in Plastic Surgery will work in the Plastic Surgery Unit at Nepean Hospital or other locations in Blue Mountains Hospital. All terms are 12 months, and each trainee will rotate through different departments.

Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner in the last 2 years
  • Recent relevant experience in plastic surgery and pre/post-surgical care
  • Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Compliance with NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy
