Job Description

We are seeking a skilled General Surgery Fellow to join our team. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical services in the colorectal and upper GI surgery teams. You will work closely with senior consultants, doctors in training, and students to ensure high-quality patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical services within the scope of practice as granted by the Medical Advisory Committee and approved by the Board
  • Liaising and working effectively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and other members of the care team
  • Performing ward rounds independently or with others, as required for inpatient care
  • Ensuring appropriate arrangements are made for patients on discharge from the hospital to maximise continuity of care

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will need to have:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification and general registration as a medical practitioner in Australia
  • Documented experience in General surgery
  • Demonstrated understanding of the patients' perspective and ability to communicate key information to the patient and carers
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for one or more of the following activities: supervision of students; delivery of education activities; research
