This role offers a unique opportunity to work in natural environment conservation and contribute to the protection of flora, fauna, and Aboriginal heritage.
Key responsibilities include effective management of natural heritage by undertaking projects, environmental assessments, visitor liaison, and field-based activities including burn planning/wildfire management and law enforcement.
A strong communication skillset is required, along with flexibility and autonomy. You will balance outdoor duties such as pest, weed, and fire management with indoor work like report compilation and submissions.
About YouTo succeed in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse community views and effectively work with stakeholders. A solid understanding of natural land management strategies is essential, along with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic about staying up-to-date on internal and external conservation issues, policies, and approaches. Relevant qualifications and current Australian Class C driver's license are required.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Current Australian Class C Drivers license or equivalent and ability to operate four-wheel-drive vehicles.
- Requirement to obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting/incident control duties.
- Willingsness to fly in light aircraft and preparedness and ability to be involved in incident management duties including firefighting.
