About the Role:
  • We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join our team in supporting large-scale energy projects.
  • This dynamic and evolving role will involve translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders and project teams.
  • You will enhance and streamline cost control tools, processes, and procedures, providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
  • In partnership with project managers and budget holders, you will support effective financial oversight, preparing timely and accurate periodic cost reports.
  • You will also coordinate with engineering teams to clarify discrepancies and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring expenditures, analysing variances, and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • You will forecast costs for project line items, assess potential variations and claims from subcontractors and vendors, and participate in ad hoc cost analyses and project review meetings as required.

About You:

  • You will have several years of experience in the cost control function within the Oil & Gas or related process industries, ideally on international, large-scale projects with progressively increasing responsibilities, including team leadership.
  • A background in Quantity Surveying is highly regarded.
  • Strong expertise in cost control with fully developed technical competencies, capable of establishing and enhancing standards, procedures, and processes.
  • You should be experienced in developing project budgets aligned with standardised structures, skilled in producing accurate cost forecasts, and performing comprehensive variance analysis.
  • Additional requirements include thorough knowledge of estimating methodologies and practices, proficiency in reviewing and refining estimates, and understanding of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) requirements across all project phases.
