Job Title: Health Safety Expertise Specialist

About the Role

We seek a senior-level Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to join our team as an expert in HSE systems and practices. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of effective health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines across various projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide high-level guidance and expertise on all aspects of HSE management, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and control measures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring that our projects maintain the highest standards of occupational health and safety.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members on best practices in HSE management, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement site-specific safety procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization by conducting awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards through regular monitoring and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of all HSE-related activities, incidents, and training programs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the mining or construction industries.
  • Strong background in auditing, inspection, and enforcement, with experience in managing risks and assessing control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational/Work Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Lead Auditor or ICAM Lead Investigator.
