For a challenging role in remote area management, we seek an experienced Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation Technician or Engineer.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on field operations and travel.

  • You are a qualified team player who enjoys hands-on work and is excited about the prospect of traveling extensively throughout Australia.

About the Role

  • The Sydney Operations Hub is one of our premier technical centres.
  • Staff based at this hub travel frequently to remote areas, utilizing vehicles, planes, boats and helicopters to maintain service delivery within various instrumentation networks.
  • This includes:
    • Rain Radars
    • Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)
    • Upper-Air monitoring systems (Sounding Balloons)
    • Sea Level Monitoring Stations
    • Wave and Wave height buoys
    • Satellite ground reception and space weather instruments
    • Flood warning/rainfall monitoring systems
    • Cooperative observers, volunteer rainfall stations
    • Communications, telemetry and instrumentation systems
  • The primary area of responsibility encompasses most of NSW, Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island.
  • We are part of a national maintenance workforce and there may be opportunities for travel to other parts of Australia to support other hubs.
  • We provide specialized training on all equipment and will ensure you have the necessary tools and skills to perform this work effectively.
