Job Overview

This role is part of a high-performing team, responsible for delivering innovative and reliable payment services.

The Product Owner will report to the General Manager and lead a squad within the team. They will collaborate with other squads and business stakeholders to define priorities and ensure strategic ambitions are met.

The Product Owner will drive a quarterly prioritisation process and manage a backlog of initiatives. They will define metrics and outcomes that align to our strategy and lead the squad in delivering prioritised initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for end-to-end value delivery and product lifecycle management.

  • Act as the voice of the customer and business, translating their needs for the squad.

  • Apply expertise to support prioritisation, balance trade-offs, and explore strategies to achieve business and customer outcomes.

  • Address impediments, drive decisions, and resolve escalations.

  • Drive product exploration and formulate hypotheses to validate product strategy/design.

  • Ensure all obligations across customer, regulatory, internal policy and process frameworks are fully met.

  • Identify, articulate and manage risks, dependencies and compliance across streams of work.

  • Maintain a healthy and prioritised backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.

  • Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure prioritisation is understood and agreed to.

  • Manage the squad's performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking.

  • Role model continuous improvement and customer focus.

  • Drive squad effectiveness and agile maturity.

Requirements

  • Proven Product Owner experience.

  • Prior experience as a Product Manager/Programme Manager/Project Manager would also be considered.

  • Payments Domain experience and knowledge, DE and/or NPP ideal.

  • Developing a Product Vision and Product Roadmap.

  • Strong communication skills with proven experience managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Agile methodology experience.

  • Mixed onshore/offshore squad experience ideal.

  • Risk and Product Compliance management.

  • Communicating with customers and colleagues.

  • Strategic and commercial experience desirable.

  • Industry and regulatory body experience desirable.
