**Role Overview**

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Technical Writer to join our client in Canberra, ACT. This role requires a deep understanding of cyber security and the ability to research, develop, review, and publish technical guidance and advice.

Main Responsibilities

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support technical publications, including research, scoping, technical consultation, review, and publishing.
  • Produce novel and unique advice and assistance on contemporary cyber security issues.
  • Research emerging technology and apply contemporary knowledge to identify information gaps, cyber security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Develop actionable cyber security mitigation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Provide support to enterprise tasks, such as section governance, supporting briefings, facilitating publication clearances, actioning requests from senior executives, reviewing documents, and supporting parliamentary reporting requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as computer science, computer forensics, information security, information technology, cloud computing, machine learning, or cyber security.
  • At least 5 years' experience in cyber security.
  • Strong leadership experience and an ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience managing projects (desirable).

Benefits

  • The salary for this role is estimated to be around $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • This contract-based position offers two possible extensions of 12 months each.
  • Candidates require an active Baseline clearance for this position and will need to undergo pre-employment checks.
