Program Director

About the Role

The Program for Technical Assistance and Economic Cooperation (PATEC) aims to support the implementation of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF). The program funds technical assistance and capacity-building projects to help IPEF countries adopt and implement IPEF standards and cooperative frameworks.

You will lead the delivery of all aspects of the program, including strategic oversight of program objectives, team activities, and program delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the program team and advisers to deliver program activities effectively, efficiently, and consistently with contracted milestones and deliverables.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure alignment with government policies.
  • Ensuring all activities under the PATEC program's statement of requirements are delivered within agreed timeframes.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Delivering program updates and briefings when required.
  • Providing strategic direction and oversight on all aspects of PATEC's implementation.
  • Designing and implementing integrated HR and project management systems that foster continuous improvement and inclusion across program activities.
  • Traveling locally and internationally, as required.

About You/Experience Required

You will have prior experience within large, complex development programs, leading geographically dispersed and diverse teams. Navigating government machinery comes naturally, and you will have prior experience in trade and/or economic cooperation.

Additional key requirements include:

  • Experience working with donors and governments in the Indo Pacific Region.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements and risk management practices.
  • Highly developed negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, particularly in a multicultural environment.
