Job Title: Brief Intervention Clinician

We are leaders in mental health service delivery, specialising in working with adults and young people, and in early childhood intervention. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.

The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, allowing them to:

  • Identify alternatives to presenting to the Emergency Department
  • Access support from trained mental health professionals within their community

The role involves delivering quality psychosocial assessment, low-intensity brief intervention treatment and evaluation, as well as participating as a member of the clinical team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work as required; with specific responsibility to provide Brief Interventions.

The ideal candidate will have one of the following qualifications: Social Worker with AASW registration/eligibility, Counsellor with Level 2 PACFA or ACA registration, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse.

Requirements include demonstrating a highly competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice with a comprehensive understanding within the continuum of care, and the ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team utilising comprehensive communication skills to establish effective partnerships and provide consultation to the team as well as government and other non-government service providers.

Additionally, the successful candidate must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC, and must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
