About the Role:

This is a great opportunity to leverage your data analysis skills in a Federal Government department. The successful Data Analysts will be responsible for conducting extensive data analysis, implementing initiatives within dynamic analytics platforms, and collaborating across teams to enhance reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the strategy and the changing needs of the organisation. Capture business requirements and underlying data and reporting needs.
  • Translate subject-matter expert and stakeholder discussion into data and reporting products and insights into value adding products for stakeholders.
  • Articulate complex information into simple messages that can be consumed by key stakeholders with varied levels of data literacy.
  • Design and build reports, dashboards and data products that support business processes and deliver business insight.
  • Drive best practice across the Analytics Chapter to ensure consistent analytics methodology and approach.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify organisational challenges and problem statements and be able to turn this into analytical and data business requirements.
  • Proven ability to design and build reports, dashboards and data products that support business processes and deliver business insight.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate subject-matter expert and stakeholder discussion into data and reporting products and translate key data insights into value adding products.
  • Good analytical and evaluating skills with strong programming experience (SAS, SQL, Python, R, etc).
  • Previous experience working in an industrialised cloud Data Lake and/or EDW environment advantageous.
