Job Title: Therapy Program Director

Job Summary:

The MJD Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Therapy Program Director to lead our team of Allied Health professionals. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing strategic input, management, oversight, and direction for our Therapy program.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership and guidance to the Therapy Team
* Develop and implement effective therapy programs for people living with Machado Joseph Disease and Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 7
* Collaborate with the broader clinical services team to contribute to the delivery of Ataxia Clinic and support key research projects
* Work in close partnership with Aboriginal Community Worker staff to explore opportunities to learn from each other and integrate evidence-based approaches with traditional therapies

Requirements:

* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Health, Disability, Community Services) with at least 2 years relevant leadership experience
* At least 5 years of clinical experience, including experience working in a neurological and/or rehabilitation setting
* Demonstrated practical experience in the delivery of therapeutic services in Aboriginal communities, within a remote delivery setting
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and attributes with the ability to interact effectively in a highly responsive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from a diverse range of cultures
