Job Title

About the Role

Collaborate with the Coordinator to lead day-to-day operations of the Structures and Stormwater Team. This role requires strong leadership, organisational, and safety-focused capabilities to deliver both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks across Council's road network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise team members to ensure efficient delivery of maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform regular safety checks on worksites, plant, and stormwater management systems to ensure compliance with WHS protocols.
  • Provide consistent and decisive leadership to the team.
  • Mentor and support team development through training and performance feedback.
  • Manage stormwater and concrete structures across the Council's road network.
  • Coordinate work with contractors to ensure all tasks adhere to construction standards and environmental policies.
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and supervise staff.
  • Knowledge of and experience in operating plant and equipment used in formwork, concreting, road construction, and pipe laying.
  • Working knowledge of employee obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, along with computer, literacy, and numeracy skills.
  • Construction Industry Training (White Card), current MR driver's licence, and ability to work out of hours within an on-call roster.
