Mechanical Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced mechanical engineer to join our team in their workshop facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle and assemble components using precision tools and instruments.
  • Clean parts using solvents, steam cleaner, hot tank, sand blaster, and caustic soda.
  • Prime or paint parts by hand or with a spray gun.
  • Set up and balance rolls to required tolerances established by work order, supervisor, and/or engineer.
  • Make balancing decisions on rolls based on experience and available information.
  • Complete inspection forms and reports accurately.
  • Look for improvements in process and implement lean manufacturing principles.
  • Clean work area and maintain equipment during shift.

Requirements:

  • Australian Trade Qualifications.
  • Strong background working in heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience working with hydraulics/pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and work orders.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble rolls, parts, and machine components.
  • Operate small machine tools.
  • Flexibility: Meet production deadlines and adapt to changing job duties and hours.
  • Safety awareness and ability to respond to emergencies.
