Senior Project Leader Opportunity

The Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Leader to spearhead the Mortimer Street Mudgee Precinct Development planning project.

This strategic role will oversee consultant procurement, stakeholder engagement, business case development, design, and planning approvals within a major Commonwealth/State grant funding framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a complex precinct-defining project
  • Oversee consultant engagement, stakeholder consultation, and management of planning/design processes
  • Develop and progress business cases, feasibility assessments, and planning approvals
  • Ensure compliance with funding requirements and coordinate internal/external professionals
  • Drive outcomes fostering vibrant, inclusive regional growth and deliver high-impact precinct plans for Mudgee
Qualifications:
  • A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum three years' experience in managing complex projects in planning, infrastructure, or property development
  • Proven ability to manage business case development, feasibility assessments, and planning/design processes
  • Understanding of local/state government development approval pathways
  • Experience in consultant procurement, contract management, and project reporting
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement
  • High-level project budgeting, scheduling, and risk management skills
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and willingness to attend relevant WHS training
