The Airborne Sensor Operator role can be based in WA, NSW or VIC.

  • Perform operational duties associated with the acquisition of airborne LiDAR and imagery (airborne LiDAR and camera system operation);
  • Coordinate flying missions with the survey pilot or aircraft provider;
  • Ensure that all planned airborne sorties are carried out in an accurate and timely manner and support the processing, exploitation and dissemination of collected information;
  • Quality control of acquired data; and
  • Carry out flight planning duties for NZ operations and as allocated by the Chief Airborne Sensor Operator.

About the Role:

We're looking for a highly skilled Airborne Sensor Operator to join our team.

You will be responsible for performing operational duties associated with the acquisition of airborne LiDAR and imagery.

You will coordinate flying missions with the survey pilot or aircraft provider and ensure that all planned airborne sorties are carried out in an accurate and timely manner.

You will also support the processing, exploitation and dissemination of collected information and carry out quality control of acquired data.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and possess technical qualifications in LiDAR and camera systems and/or spatial science and/or photography.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum depending on experience.

About You:

We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating in unpressurised light aircraft at various altitudes for extended periods.

You should have operating knowledge of aerial survey sensors and flight planning software and an understanding of meteorology.

You will need to attain and maintain a red Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) and have advanced computer skills with an emphasis on MS-based software.
