
Young People Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. As part of our community-based mental health care service, you will provide focussed psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of young people and families.
- You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to respond appropriately to mental health and developmental needs.
- Providing high standard assessments, psychological, counselling and therapeutic interventions.
- Opportunities to run group programs and develop your skills as a mental health professional.
The role involves working with individuals who require mental health support, providing tailored interventions and collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
You will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and evaluating their effectiveness. You will also have opportunities to contribute to the development of new programs and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications- General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR Mental Health Nurse OR AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
- Extensive experience in clinical services to young people (12-25 years) and demonstrated expertise in assessment and care planning.
- Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills, with a sound understanding of public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work sensitively with individuals who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness.
- Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
- Permanent, part-time (0.4 FTE) opportunity available.
- Paying on HPSS Level 3 (above award payment for highly experienced clinicians) plus Super.
