River Health Advocate

As a Board Member of the Scenic Rim River Improvement Trust, you will play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the health of rivers within the region. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your skills and experience towards designing and implementing effective outcomes associated with riverine health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address river-related issues through various communication methods.
- Work in conjunction with government agencies, natural resource management groups, community organizations, and individuals to provide leadership and guidance on the implementation of approved projects.
- Review and approve annual reports for submission to relevant authorities in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Ensure that works undertaken by the Trust are carried out in accordance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
- Contribute to the identification, development, and implementation of project schedules and plans.
Requirements:
- A strong background in identifying and implementing strategies to improve riverine health and/or mitigate flood impacts would be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with the area in which the Trust operates and its rivers would be an asset.
- This position may require occasional overnight travel as part of fulfilling the role's responsibilities.
