About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Specialist to join our team in the Department of Endocrinology.
Job Summary:
The Staff Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, participating in morbidity and mortality meetings, educational departmental meetings, and providing on-call services as mandated by the Head of Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend clinics, both rural and at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, attend to inpatients on campus.
- Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings, educational departmental meetings, and provide on-call services as mandated by the Head of Department.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:
- Registration with AHPRA or eligibility for specialist registration.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and high standards of clinical practice in endocrinology.
- Completed PhD or working towards completing it.
- Commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer, and undergraduate levels.
- Ability to provide compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience.
- Ongoing contribution to the development, dissemination, and translation of new knowledge and practices in an academic teaching hospital environment.
- Personal integrity and commitment to the Philosophy, Mission, and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia.
Preferred Qualifications:
A track record in clinical or health service research and publication relevant to endocrine medicine practice is highly desirable.
