Youth Wellbeing Clinician Transformation Expert

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Wellbeing Clinician Transformation Expert to join our team in the Northern Rivers region. As an integral part of our Strong Community – Aboriginal Resilient Kids program, you will play a vital role in supporting young Aboriginal people aged 8-18 who have been impacted by the devastating flood events.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity until 11 July 2025 (with possible extension) that offers a competitive salary between $43.08 and $51.51 per hour, depending on experience. You will also enjoy excellent salary packaging options up to $15,900 per year, plus entertainment and accommodation benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Provide culturally sensitive youth mental health support and case management with a flexible approach to clinical intervention.
- Offer primarily face-to-face, place-based services or via assertive/mobile community outreach.
- Manage a clinical caseload of mainly young Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander female clients.
- Consult and link with other services to ensure comprehensive care.
- Engage with local communities to increase program awareness.
To succeed in this role, you must be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. This is an essential occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Community Services, Human Services, or similar.
- Experience in caseload management and providing recovery-oriented clinical care.
- A background working with young female clients (ages from 8 to 18).
- Delivery of evidence-based interventions in the areas of youth mental health via group or individual counselling.
- An understanding of the issues prevalent for young Aboriginal women in today's society and their impacts on social and emotional wellbeing.
- Great driving skills and a high level of comfort with daily travel and working independently.
- Local knowledge of the Northern Rivers Region with a good understanding of the communities.
- Ability to relate to a cohort of young Aboriginal female clients in a relevant, youth-friendly manner.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and capability to present at team meetings and case reviews.
- Strong computer skills including use of a CRM, uploading case notes and client documentation.
