About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Architect to join our team at Optus. As a key member of our EB Delivery team, you will be responsible for delivering high-level technical advice and expertise to support, identify, and provide technical solutions and maintain architectural integrity in support of our customers' accounts and the Optus account team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review detailed customer technical designs, bills of materials, and client proposals in response to ongoing operational in-contract needs and major project Change Request scenarios.
  • Develop innovative technical solutions to address customer business requirements, coordinating all inputs to the architectural design and supporting the design through its life cycle.
  • Focus on ICT and Data Networking, including areas such as Networks, Data Centre, Cloud, Collaboration, and Security across technical designs, costing, and risk assessment.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and mentoring to the Optus delivery team for new solutions.
  • Improve the partnership between Optus Business and the broader Optus community.
  • Improve the way people and process come together to deliver more seamlessly to our customers.
  • Analyze prospective and current customer requirements and develop profitable and suitable solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Design complex business solutions that integrate all data, voice, video communications, and systems components into an effective network.
  • Provide technical and infrastructure design for Managed Services solutions, including cost and risk assessment.
  • Be highly proactive with sales engagement for the development of best value for money and best of breed solutions.
  • Proactively identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Perform customer-focused enterprise technology presentations from technical to CIO level.
  • Embed a consultative approach within Sales and Delivery.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of pre-sales/embedded architect experience at senior IT/executive level.
  • Experience in developing detailed customer technical designs, bills of materials, and client proposals.
  • Experience in providing high-level technical advice and expertise to support, identify, and maintain architectural integrity of a deployed customer ICT environment.
  • Experience in a Managed Solutions environment, including maintaining large corporate networks.
  • Expertise in managing diverse technical solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of one or more of the following technology areas: Data Networks, Security, Server and Storage technologies, Network toolsets, and reporting platforms.
  • Ability to question current processes and status quo and devise improvements.
