Job Title

A challenging opportunity for a Geologist has become available at our world-class Kalgoorlie Operations.

We are seeking an experienced Geologist to join our team and contribute to the extraction and growth of our mineral reserve.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and delineating in-mine mineral resources, performing underground geological activities, and driving ounce addition through identification and evaluation of in mine targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and delineate in-mine mineral resources
  • Perform underground geological activities required to facilitate safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction and growth of the mineral reserve
  • Drive ounce addition through identification and evaluation of in mine targets
  • Plan and implement in mine drilling programs
  • Create preliminary assessment wireframes from opportunities and targets identified
  • Ensure effective communication of opportunity and exploration targets with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor drilling results and identify anomalous results
  • Provide technical support to production in mapping, geology modelling and control of development
  • Drive ongoing geological improvement by analysing existing processes and implementing enhancements

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Degree in Geology, preferably with Honours, from a recognised tertiary institution. You must also have current C Class Western Australian Drivers Licence and demonstrated geological experience, the majority of which must be in gold.

In addition, you should have experience in the use of Geological Software for wireframing and drill design, as well as more than 4 years underground experience.

You must also possess proven competency in all aspects of underground geology, familiarity with QA/QC processes, and demonstrated ability to set achievable goals, effectively delegate and mentor.

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological and environmental tasks

Location

This is a Kalgoorlie based role, requiring the successful incumbent to reside in the local area.
