Underground Geologist

This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across two sites, where the geology of the narrow vein gold deposits and resource definition is very interesting and there will be exposure to both open pit and underground mining methods.

The Duketon project in WA has 3 mines: Moolart Well, Rosemont and Garden Well with surrounding satellite pits. The expansion of the Garden Well mine has led to the need to ramp up recruitment and presents the opportunity for new team members to make their mark on how the mine runs. **The Role / Duties**
We have multiple Geologist positions available of varying experience required from entry-level through to experienced Project and Mine Geologists as we look to staff this new underground gold mine project. This is an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth to Duketon. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across two sites, where the geology of the narrow vein gold deposits and resource definition is very interesting and there will be exposure to both open pit and underground mining methods. You will be joining a small team of geologists who work well together, and extensive training will be provided for any new geology recruits. The following activities can be expected:

- Supervise UG drilling programs, logging and validation
- Utilise site systems and QA/QC protocols to ensure the quality and integrity of data
- Developing grade control procedures
- Collecting and analysing underground grade control data (face mapping, face sampling) in preparation for block modelling
- Undertake Production Duties to facilitate the optimal production of gold ore from the underground mining operations in a timely manner
- Ensure the accurate sampling, interpretation, communication and documentation of geological, mining and geotechnical data in the mine environment
- Provide supervision, coaching and mentoring to support staff to ensure quality and team effectiveness
- Ensure that daily ore production data is accurately reported
- Additional project work and duties as outlined by the Geology Superintendent

**Skills & Experience**
- Degree in geology
- Prior experience working in underground gold ore systems would be highly regarded
- Well established computer skills (MS Office suite, Surpac, Leapfrog)
- Ability to carry out grade control drill planning, modelling, and estimation
- Strong report writing skills
