Underground Mine Geologist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Underground Mine Geologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed underground mapping and sampling, validating diamond drill hole data, and performing daily ROM and stope inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and detailed underground mapping and sampling
  • Data validation of diamond drill holes and underground face mapping
  • Daily ROM and stope inspections
  • Work collaboratively with the wider mining team to optimize ore extraction
  • Geological logging of diamond drilling core as required or directed by Senior Geologist
  • Daily tracking and reporting of production
  • Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of underground sample QAQC to a high standard
  • Mentoring Junior Geologists
  • Drill program design and implementation
  • Stope review and reconciliation

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in underground mine geology
  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology
  • Experience in gold mining
  • Possesses a current and valid Manual Driver's Licence
  • Possesses a National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months
  • The ability to pass Westgold's pre-employment process
