Trade Apprentice Position Available

Our trade organization is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of an apprentice carpenter. This position will provide the successful candidate with hands-on experience in the building, construction, and joinery trades.

Duties:

  • Carry out tasks related to the construction, assembly, alteration, or renovation of buildings, structures, fittings, cabinets, cupboards, and modular units.
  • Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels, hand saws, screwdrivers, measuring tapes, and levelling devices.
  • Operate power tools including electric/battery drills, power saws, routers, sanders, planners, laser levelling devices, and pneumatic tools.
  • Collect and assemble building supplies.
  • Adhere to safety protocols when using ladders, access ways, handrails, barriers, scaffolding, and mechanical lifts.
  • Complete documentation and record information on computerised programs.
  • Participate in theory and practical assessment tasks within a building site/training centre environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors in workplace and training environments.

Some tasks require moderate dexterity and physical exertion through varied working positions. The selected applicant is expected to be available during required working hours and make their own safe travel arrangements.

  • Basic hand and power tool operation skills are essential.
  • A strong understanding of basic carpentry skills is necessary.
  • A valid car license and reliable transportation are required.
