Job Title: Goods Receipt Specialist

Key Responsibilities

The Goods Receipt Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely receipting of goods into an automated system. This involves verifying and maintaining records for incoming deliveries, examining contents of deliveries, and recording delivery data.

Responsibilities include:

  • Verifying and recording delivery data, such as weight, quantities, damages, or discrepancies
  • Examining contents of deliveries to ensure accuracy
  • Recording remarks as required, including boxes containing less than indicated, damages, and pilferage
  • Assisting with placing goods in allocated stores location during times of high demand
  • Corresponding with suppliers to resolve issues, including damages or non-conformance to specifications
  • Receipting of orders using computerized or manual methods for control of stock inventory
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Forklift license preferred but not essential
  • Attention to detail and ability to solve system challenges in a timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, including word processing, managing files and records, and basic office procedures
  • Strong organisational/time management skills
  • Able to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high volume, high value environment
