Wellbeing Support Specialist

The role of a Wellbeing Support Specialist is to provide emotional care and support to students, promoting their overall wellbeing and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a safe and confidential space for students to discuss their concerns and receive guidance on managing anxiety and other emotional issues.
  • Collaborating with teachers and school staff to develop strategies that promote student resilience, coping skills, and social-emotional learning.
  • Delivering programs and workshops that educate students on friendship skills, personal safety, and risk management.
  • Working closely with the Learning Support Team to identify and address individual student needs.
  • Reporting any concerns regarding child safety to the Child Safety Officer and Principal, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.

This role requires a commitment to working with children and supporting a culture of child safety. Relevant qualifications in social work, youth work, educational psychology, or education are essential, as well as awareness of best practices in student wellbeing and willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
