Teaching Opportunity in Special Education

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to join our community at Young High School. As a member of our school team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to students with diverse needs.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized learning plans for students with special educational needs.
  • Collaboration with teachers and support staff is essential to provide a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports on student progress and behaviour is crucial for effective student support.
Suitable Candidate Profile
  • A strong teaching background, particularly in supporting students with Autism, Behaviour Difficulties, Mild Intellectual Disability, Moderate Intellectual Disability, or Emotional Disturbance is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, carers, SLSO staff, external agencies, and the wider community.
  • Strong classroom management and wellbeing practices, coupled with the ability to utilise data to plan for individualised student support, are highly valued.
Benefits Package
  • Successful applicants may be eligible for a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (conditions apply).
  • A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 is available for eligible candidates.
