Job Title: Senior Regulatory Counsel

About the Role:

The Regulatory Legal team provides support to our regulatory activities, including investigations under the WHS Act and prosecutions for alleged contraventions of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will provide legal support to investigations, inspections and other regulatory activity conducted under the WHS Act and assist with the conduct of prosecutions commenced under that Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice and support to investigations, inspections and other regulatory activity
  • Assisting with the preparation of briefs of evidence for prosecutions
  • Mentoring, supporting and supervising junior team members

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in law
  • Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory
  • Current restricted practising Certificate or ability to obtain one within three months
